Bass industry guidance 2024

The Sea Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations(No. 20232) (legislation.gov.uk)Regulations 2024 retained retained and amended the Bass Measures 2020 as per Article 10 of of Council Regulation (EU).

This means that revisedannual measureslandings onlimits vesselsfor catchingpermitted Europeangear Seabasstypes werewill introducedbe onset 1by Aprilthe 2023.

Thefishing measuresvessel forlicence 2024rather remainthan asa instatutory 2023.instrument.

The bass control measures described implement measures designed to manage fishing effort to help protect and improve bass stocks.

Bass limits for 2024

The Sea Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations 2023 (legislation.gov.uk): sets annual fixed gillnet, hook and line and  trawls and seines bass limits.

Bass authorisations letters werewill re-issuedbe inre-issued  March effective 2023.16 December 2024.
