Confined establishments approved to export ungulates to the EU

Lists of confined establishments in Great Britain, Jersey and the Isle of Man approved to export or move ungulates to the EU and Northern Ireland.

Your premises must be approved as a confined establishment by the competent authority in Great Britain, Jersey and the Isle of Man if you’re exporting or moving ungulates to the EU and Northern Ireland for:

  • exhibitions
  • education
  • conservation
  • research

Confined establishments are permanent premises, such as zoos or laboratories.

Ungulates covered by these lists are all hooved animals except equines, including:

  • alpacas
  • antelopes
  • camels
  • cows
  • elephants
  • giraffes
  • goats
  • hippos
  • llamas
  • pigs
  • rhinos
  • sheep
  • tapirs
  • wild pigs

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is the competent authority in Great Britain.

Guidance on exporting or moving ungulates from confined establishments in Great Britain will be published at a later date.
