Presidential and Parliamentary elections took place in Uganda on 15 January 2026 and results were announced on the afternoon of 17 January. Local government and special interest group elections are scheduled in January and February 2026.

Previous election campaigns and result announcements have led to protests and violence, including fatalities. There haveare been some reports of violent incidentsincidents, overincluding thisin electionKampala, period,and includingthere inhave Kampala.been calls for further protest by opposition figures.

Stay away from political gatherings and large crowds and monitor local media to see when and where major protests may occur. Follow local news and the instructions of local authorities.
