This guidance tells HM Passport Office staff what we mean by gender recognition.
It also tells them:
- how a customer can ask for a change to the gender on their passport
- what evidence the customer must send
- how to examine an application
- how to deal with applications to change a child’s gender
- about the Gender Recognition Act
- what the gender recognition panel is and how to contact them
