General

  • Update: Following on from the recent blog on our signposting strategy, Charlotte Rook, from Support Through Court, explains what happens after we signpost a person to their charity for help. Read the latest blog.

  • Update: We’ve published the latest monthly management information to understand workload volumes and timeliness in courts and tribunals at a national level.

  • Update: The Ministry of Justice has published a call for evidence, titled ‘Open Justice – the way forward’, covering a wide range of themes surrounding the openness and transparency of our justice system. This includes court listings, physical and remote access to court proceedings, broadcasting, the publication of judgments, access to court documents and the access and reuse of court data. You can have your say now, and the evidence gathered will be used to inform the department’s future policy thinking and service development in this area. The call for evidence will close on Thursday 7 September.

  • Reminder: The Royal Courts of Justice Group is running a survey to better understand all users’ experiences of contacting and visiting the site. This will help identify areas of improvement and make positive changes for everyone. The survey is open for responses until Friday 21 July 2023 and should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete.

  • Reminder: We’ve launched our 2023 Communications and Engagement Survey. We want to find out what you think about the way we communicate and engage with you. This will help us understand how you access our information, what works well now and how we can improve. Complete the survey.

  • Reminder: We’re seeking feedback on proposals for a new three-storey court in Blackpool. A 4-week engagement period will run from Monday 26 June to Monday 24 July 2023. You can give your feedback by attending consultation events in Blackpool, or through the engagement website.

  • Update: People who paid fees at an employment tribunal or employment appeals tribunal between 29 July 2013 and 26 July 2017 could be eligible for a refund. Since the Government launched the refund scheme in January 2018, £18.6m has been paid out in refunds to more than 22,800 people. Use our refund information page to find out how you can apply.
